Fusion 360 starts with T: Lighting the path from Tinkercad to Fusion 360

  • Brooklyn, New York 10012 USA (map)

Tinkercad offers a complete ecosystem for 3D design and electronics simulation, both including coding to make these environments even more powerful. That said, there comes a time in which users will start needing extra power that we’d rather keep off Tinkercad in order to maintain its beautiful simplicity. And this is where Fusion 360 comes into the picture. This session, led by Guillermo Melantoni, Autodesk’s Senior Product Line Manager for Tinkercad and Fusion 360, will cover different aspects of the transition from Tinkercad into Fusion 360, including a very well-documented case study.

Guillermo Melantoni

Guillermo Melantoni is Senior Product Line Manager for Tinkercad and Fusion 360 at Autodesk. Guillermo has a degree in Architecture and has worked as a design professor at state and private schools of architecture in Uruguay, and also became a consultant for architectural firms, specializing in 3D modeling, rendering, and animations. He was hired by Autodesk in 2006 for evangelizing, implementing, and training on most of the disciplines covered by Autodesk, with a particular focus on Building Information Modeling and Design Visualization. In 2008 Guillermo became Product Manager for AutoCAD and then moved to platform work around interoperability. He spent the next four years creating consumer products, including the 123D line, Meshmixer, and Tinkercad. Two years ago, Tinkercad moved into the Fusion 360 family and Guillermo added Fusion desktop platform and Education besides staying as a lead for Tinkercad.
